You do not end up walking in the desert by chance but rather because of the conscious or unconscious desire to get yourself together. This is an out-of-the-ordinary experience to live in terms of sports and human challenges. It is indeed the best way to meet the Nomads and the people living in the desert. The Sahara people are very proud. And they are right to be so because their history is rich in major conquests and trade achievements, among others. If you go on a trek on their playground and share their lives for a couple of days, you will catch a glimpse of this rich legacy.
Walking in the desert will be a spiritual journey for you. This place has a very special energy that affects you deep within. As a consequence, when you go to the desert you often become aware of some hidden reality.
Walking in the desert is about taking the time to admire this outstanding landscape. You will be amazed by the various changes of scenery, alternating between Erg (sand sea) and Regs (desert pavements); and, by the rich fauna and flora. Camel scouts will tell you amazing stories with a lot of sense of humour, unexpectedly. You will also learn how to cook a tagine, make bread in the sand as well as black tea of the desert.
